after a scene straight out of the movie of armageddon as russia is hit by a meteor strike sparking an explosion with the power of an atomic bomb of. welcome to "america live," what a friday, everyone, i am h megyn kelly. a bright light scene racing across the sky as the ten-ton meteor enters earth's atmosphere travelling at least 33,000 miles per hour. imagine looking up and seeing this. this video of a roadway showing, look at the sky lighting up, bright white as a large fireball explodes. the sonic blast shattering windows, shards of glass and debris rain down on panicked local and that's how most of the injuries happened. up close to a thousand people injured. and some thinking the worst, thinking the world was coming to an end. bank is kick off officially those weekend squawk in russia. they're expected to deliver a pledge of monetary policy while focusing on measures to boost global growth. steve has been there all week and he joins us again this morning. steve, we actually finally start the meetings today. we've had comments out from the russian finance minister, as well. what's he saying? >> well, he's trying to get us back on track on to a growth agenda, which when you look back at what the agenda was a couple of meetings ago back in toronto in 2010, that was sorely missing. that was about harboring deficits and having firm targets. it hasn't really worked, has it? what they've said is our growth estimates were slightly optimistic. listening to what some of the policymakers are saying this time around, the likes of mario draghi, i'm scratching my head a little bit. there's some uncontentious stuff. i can live with that. range of financial market indicators showing situation normalizing. but what about this bit? currency chatter is inappropriate, fruitless and self-defeating. hang on a second, mr. dr

? >> i don't think the meetings greatly changed the equation, the vice president did meet with russia's foreign minster and the envoy overseeing the response to syria. this really enabled him to reach out to those folks to make the position known on the world stage as well as you pointed out. he called for him to step down. that's something he has been doing for sometime now. the white house is not engaging any differently in syria. russia remains the staunchest allies. they opposed the un actions. in terms of the bottom line. i don't think anything changes, but again it does provide biden with that platform to reiterate the administration's stance. they are calling for the president to go and if you speak with senior officials, they believe that assad is becoming increasingly isolated and will ultimately step down. the killings continue to be one of the largest challenges for the administration. >> while i have you, here it is. this is a picture of the president released earlier today. president obama skeet shooting back in august. i understand you have new information from officials

.s. and russia have a plan. and they're going to present it to the iranians in talks next tuesday. the goal is to offer serious economic incentives in exchange for iran's shutting down uranium enrichment facility and surrendering the stockpile of urani uranium. we have details of this new proposal. what's new about it? i know last year they tried to do this and they didn't go for it. what's new here? >> that's right. it's been about a year since the u.s. and the partners sat down with iran over the nuclear program. they've been making a good deal of progress on the developments since that time. so they're sweetening the pot, so to speak, and asking more of ire ran in return whether they sit down next week in kazakhstan. in exchange for easing the ban on the trade of gold and precious metals to iran and some nuclear fuel for peaceful purposes, iran must close its enrichment facility at a plant that is underground. the longer iran keeps this underground facility open and becomes more difficult to stop them militarily from having the uranium needed for a nuclear weapon. they want them to ship

didn't solve the middle east. look at russia, going down the tubes fast. look at the arab spring countries, in complete turmoil. and also china. not particularly good. you can go down the list and on some of the hard issues, those really traditional foreign policy international policy issues. some critics would say she didn't accomplish much of anything and she leaves john kerry a pretty fragile world. other people would say, no, she actually injected into the conversation, changed the conversation about international policy. what she talked about and what she followed through on were the issues of women's development, economic development, children, family and increasing the conversation as she would put it with people around the world, not just talking to governments, but beginning this two-way conversation with people all over the world. so that debate is going to go on for a long time. >> we're watching secretary of state hillary clinton say farewell to some of the 69,000 state department employees. john king and gloria borger are here in the studio with me. she has now a rec
